The 2024 ISF Senior Thesis Poster Session will take place on Monday May 13, 2024 from 12-2PM in 262 Evans Hall. This is a unique opportunity for graduating ISF seniors to showcase the hard work they put in their thesis to family and friends and to see their peers’ culminating projects. Interdisciplinary Studies Field (ISF) will offer three classes this Summer 2024: ISF 100A, 100D, and 100I. ISF 100A is required for all ISF majors, so this is a recommended course if you are both considering the major and considering summer enrollment. Information for Fall 2023-24 Transfer Students

Fall 2023 and Fall 2024 ISF Transfer Admits This page is only applicable for UC Berkeley transfer students who were admitted directly into the ISF major in Fall 2023 and Fall 2024. If you were/are admitted to UC Berkeley in and between those terms as a different major, please follow the standard application process to declare the ISF major. UGIS Spring 2024 Commencement Ceremony

UGIS Commencement Ceremony 2024 – Tuesday May 14th, 7-9 PM, Zellerbach Auditorium Commencement ceremonies are held in May. Students completing requirements during the spring semester or summer semester or the preceding fall semester are welcome to participate. The DeCal Program (or just DeCal) is an aggregate of faculty-sponsored, student-led courses at the University of California, Berkeley. Students have the opportunity to create and facilitate their own classes on a variety of subjects, many of which are not addressed in the traditional curriculum. Chenxi Tang

Professor Tang studied comparative literature, German literature, and philosophy at Fudan University Shanghai, Peking University, Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität Munich, and Columbia University (PhD 2000). He taught at the University of Chicago before joining the Berkeley faculty in 2007. He is a recipient of numerous awards, including Alexander von Humboldt Research Fellowship, UC President’s Faculty Research Fellowship, and Research Fellowship of Hamburg Institute for Advanced Studies.
